Our third-year PhD student, Ruchel Gagarin Oasan from the Philippines, participated in "9TH INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARS CONFERENCE ONSITE AT ASIA-PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY ON 25-26 OCT" with research titled " Association of Health Conditions with Severity of COVID-19 Disease Symptoms: A Cross-sectional Study". Here is some learning feedback from Ruchel in the conference.

Attending an international conference is not only about sharing your research, but also an opportunity to learn from others which will help you improve your work. This 9th International Scholars' Conference that we attended in Thailand with the theme "Impactful Investigations: Advancing Research for Social Change" made us realize that there is a need for transformative research that not only has academic benefit, but is able to make real contributions to the development of functioning and sustainable societies. Also, the messages that we heard from different speakers coming from different parts of the world motivate us to do more research that will raise awareness, shift perspectives, impact communities, and change lives. I am grateful that we were able to join and present in this conference as well as learn from guest speakers and other presenters.

P.S. The learnings I acquired so far from the International Health Program (IHP) of National Yangming Chiaotung University (NYCU) gave me more confidence to do research and present internationally. Hence, I am also thankful for my program and university in Taiwan.
